Meredith Vargas, DVM
Dr. Meredith Vargas and her husband Juan Vargas are the owners of
Culpeper
Animal
Hospital. They purchased the hospital in March 2003.
Dr. Vargas received her bachelors degree from the
University of
Connecticut in 1993. She next attended
Purdue University and earned her DVM from the
School of
Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She started her veterinary career caring for horses and was particularly interested in reproduction and embryo transfers. She then turned her attention to caring for small animals.
Juan Vargas is originally from
Mexico but has called Culpeper home for the past 8 years. He is currently studying at
Germanna
Community College. Dr. Vargas and Juan share their home with their three children, Nicolas, Rubi and Lilly, and their pets; Louie the Boxer, Mini the
Boston Terrier, Pita the cat, and their horses Palmetto, Tequila and Margarita. |

Andrea Kellum, DVM
We would like to welcome the newest edition to the team.
Dr. Kellum graduated from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and practiced mixed animal medicine for 3 years before joining the team here at Culpeper Animal Hospital. In her spare time, Dr. Kellum enjoys horseback riding, traveling, and live music. She shares her home with 3 horses (Fire, Bailey, and Major) and 4 dogs (Aggie, Nina, Doodlebug, and Slinky). |

Melissa Heneghan ~ Practice Manager Melissa is known to her friends and family as "Missy." She has been our practice manager for over 3 years. Missy ensures that everything at Culpeper Animal Hospital runs smoothly. She and her husband, Kevin, have two children, Maddie and Andrew. They own a farm with cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, goats, sheep, and horses. |

Mary Burns ~ Customer Service Representative
Mary was born and raised in Northern Virginia. Mary joined the staff of Culpeper Animal Hospital in April of 2007. A former employee of a local horse farm, Mary enjoys riding her horses, working out, reading and spending time with family and friends. Mary lives in Rixeyville with her husband, two children, 2 dogs, 3 cats and 4 horses.

Rosalie Tyler ~ Customer Service Representative
"Rally", as she is known by friends and family, has been with us for a few years. She always comes in with a smile on her face and adds great personality to our clinic.
When not at the clinic, Rally enjoys working up a sweat at the gym and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Jack, have 4 children, 6 dogs and one fiesty cat. |

Michele Rossano-Seale ~ Veterinary Technician We are proud to say that Michele has worked for Culpeper Animal Hospital for over 8 years!! Michele is a very multi-talented individual capable of doing almost anything and everything in the clinic. We are lucky to have her as part of our team. Michele enjoys art, horseback riding, and spending time with family and friends in her spare time. Michele and her husband, Matt, have a son and a daughter, two horses and a cat. |

Courtney Rosenberger ~ Veterinary Technician Courtney came to us with over 7 years of experience in the veterinary field and the willingness to teach any of us eager to learn. Courtney is a graduate of CCHS and is currently enrolled in classes in a veterinary technician program. She lives in Madison with her boyfriend, Eric and her 4 animals, all of whom she rescued and gave a second chance at a happy life. |

Sarah Peyton ~ Veterinary Assistant / Student Born and raised in Culpeper, Sarah is a graduate of Culpeper County High School and is currently studying to become a licensed veterinary technician. A real pet lover, Sarah has always enjoyed helping animals and joined the staff of Culpeper Animal Hospital in July of 2006. Sarah lives with her family in Boston, VA and has a guinea pig named Abby. In her free time she enjoys playing her flute, scrap booking, and spending time with family and friends. |

Rebecca Karis ~ Veterinary Assistant/Customer Service Representative
"Becca" is a college student, who is currently studying to recieve her Associates Degree in Science and is looking into classes to become a licensed veterinary technician. She loves working with animals and being able to educate our clients and the community. Working at an animal hospital is a dream come true for her.
Becca currently resides in Culpeper with her boyfriend, Michael. They have two Jack Russel Terriers, Champ and Bailey, and the newest addition to their Family, Maddie, a rescued Spinger Mix.

Shawn Makely Marr ~ Veterinary Assistant / Student
Shawn grew up in Culpeper, and graduated from high school in 2004. She is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech where she double majored in Animal and Poultry Science and Dairy Science. She is now looking to go to Vet school.
Shawn has been working for us for 7 years and loves every minute of it. She is currently taking veterinary technology classes. She lives in Elkwood with 1 Border Collie, 2 Mixed breed dogs, and a fish. In her free time she enjoys art, tractor pulls, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. |

Jenny ~ Our Resident Pet Jenny came to us as a kitten, slightly impaired after being stepped on by a horse. Even though a majority of her life has been spent here with us, she is a normal, happy, healthy cat who loves nothing more than curling up in her bed and taking a day-long cat nap. We all enjoy having them around the clinic and they really help to give us that "at home" feeling at work. |
